I was a teacher assistant for six and a half years. I helped with grades K-5 and pre-K. I taught in a Montessori school for five and a half years and worked extensively with pre-K (ages 3 -6) using the Montessori method. I worked under a reading specialist when I worked in a public school in Virginia Beach and I also worked under and art teacher. I worked with K-3 the most when I worked in the public school. One interesting thing about myself is that while in elementary school in third grade I was a winner of the Young Authors Contest. In high school my senior year, I took first chair on Euphonium in my school district. I was awarded a state audition and I was fifth chair Euphonium in the state of Virginia. I have a degree in English and my emphasis was creative writing. I love anything that has to do with literature and writing, especially poetry.
